  • ANTONIO GONZALEZ

Antonio is a veteran with over 22 years of military service and currently serves as the Military Liaison and Advisor for the San Antonio Board of the Chamber of Commerce.  His main goal is to reach out to the LGBTQ+ military communities across all three local installations {Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) Fort Sam, JBSA Lackland, & JBSA Randolph}. He has always been behind the scenes while serving in the military for 14 out of the 17 years of the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT) Law and its’ appeal. Now being able to fully engage our young LGBTQ+ military community by providing them with the education, dignity, inclusion, and sense of belonging that wasn’t allowed to him is one of his main passions.  He is attending graduate school to complete his educational requirements to obtain his Master’s in Business Administration.  Lastly, but not least, he and his husband are parents to seven children and two grandchildren as proud products of those who also stand tall after the Supreme Courts overturn the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) which did not allow same-sex marriages to be recognized for federal benefits to include beneficiaries and dependents.  He is genuinely here to assist and aid our LGBTQ+ youth to the future and beyond.
